Updated: Mar 7, 2024

When you are overweight and tried many diet to lose, you start to think about other options, included weight loss drugs prescribed by doctors. Also if you have diabetes and it's easier to take the shot, than being on a diet, you want to get that kind of help.

Would I recommend them?

Absolutely not.

Let me explain you why.

These drugs just came up to the market recently or relatively new, included Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Wegovy, Trulicity, Victoza and more. About half a dozen of them to treat obesity, type 2 diabetes and other metabolic diseases.

The end results and side effects are mostly similar, but different ones need to be prescribed for different people. There is no one size fits all.

These medications managing blood sugar and weight. They can help losing 15%-20% of the body weight. They are all FDA approved.

Most common side affects are vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, some can cause abdominal bloating and loss of appetite.

They are not recommended for people with the high risk of heart disease.

Also, once you stop the treatments, you can gain the weight back.

Long term side effects can lead to pancreatitis, diabetic retinopathy, low blood sugar, kidney problems, allergic reactions, digestive problems, heart palpitations, chest pain and sudden gallbladder diseases.

So there is that.

Is it worth it?

Probably not.

In my opinion, you may start the right food diet and supplements, what can fit your lifestyle. Food and your choice of living can heal you properly. It could be a longer process, but please

Never look for a quick fix with these drugs, because you didn't gain the weight overnight and you didn't get diabetes all the sudden!
