As I was watching Temple Stewart's stories on Instagram, I had an idea to write about how to travel, while you are on the keto diet.
You can find Temple as @the.ketogenic.nutritionist on social medias. I'm a huge fan of hers, and I would highly recommend to follow her.
If you are going on a long trip, whether you are flying or driving, you already know may bump into some problems, regarding the food you get or find on the way to your destination.
So you have couple of choices:
First, like Temple said, fast.
She starts fasting after lunch and doing pretty much a 24 hour fast, which will give her the benefits of feeling better, both mentally, physically and not to mention she will not feel bloated from snacking constantly.
You can read more about "Fasting" in my other blog.
The other option, you might choose, is to prep your meals for a long trip. Pack individual meals, like chaffle sandwiches, cold cuts, some vegetables. nuts, cheeses, etc.
To be honest, I've never tried fasting while I was traveling, but from now on, it seems like a good idea to consider.
I always try to pack more than enough food in my carry on or backpack, so I don't have to get junk food at the airport or in the quick stops while I'm driving long distance.
Overall, just get ready for your vacation or short getaway a few days before you leave home.
