Stress, busy life and health

Here, in South Florida, busy season is November until April. Snowbirds are coming, businesses pick up, restaurants fill up and holidays, like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year approaching.

Our body and mind can take only so much. Aldo we have the whole summer to take it easier and relax, this time of the year can seem hectic and overwhelming. It can affect your metabolic health and you might skip a meal or 2, because your schedule, kids, or any other things happening in your life.

You may feel stressed out, have anxiety, mind racing, lack of sleep, depression, body pain, fatigue, pneumonia, high blood pressure, racing mind, break outs, eczema or other skin problems. Just a few to mention. And the worse part could be, diabetes.

I just got to this part, when I feel my body is weaker, my immune system is down and I realized I need to do something to get back on track. I'm pretty sure it happened from 5 days work at my regular job and then not resting but pushing myself to do yard work and making repairs and maintenance on my house, because everything happened at the same time. And in the end, lack of sleep. "Murpy's law".

I would schedule wisely if I could, but unfortunately it wasn't an option.

So now, this week is done, I need to get back on track and take care of my body and mind.

Self care is a must to prevent health issues.

For your mind, some would suggest meditation, sunlight in the morning, red light therapy, listen to music, yoga, walking, beach, have a conversation with friends or loved ones, and more.

No matter what you do, do something what will give you peace and happiness.

For your body, you need to eat the right nutritious food and try not to skip a meal, take extra vitamins, such as C, D and a lot of fluids, like electrolytes, tea and water, so you get all the essential minerals. You can read about Vitamins and Electrolytes in my previous blogs.

Also try to sleep enough, as much as your body needs. You can read about that in my previous blog "Sleep".

Treat yourself like you have the Flu!

Stress and busy life happens occasionally or often, and it can hit you hard, so just take a deep breath, think about your priorities and reevaluate life.
