Some people can and some people can't

How many times I hear, how hard it is to lose weight or some of my friends and family is trying so hard, but no good results from dieting.

They see me, I lost all this weight, and they feel encouraged to get in a better shape. Some of them succeed, but some just can't seem to get there. In these cases I'm trying to help them with suggestions and explaining how much and what to eat, and if they need to do exercise or anything else could help.

Sometimes we have to look into deeper. Not everyone's body is the same. Therefore, it could be many reasons why the person doesn't reach success with certain diets.

Metabolism is one of the main problem. When your body doesn't digest properly and can't discard the food you eat, that will stay in you and become fat soon or later. There is many supplements to help you with that, or if you prefer, ask for help from your nutritionist or doctor.

The other thing could be insulin resistance. You don't have to be diabetic to be one. There is many signs, increased thirst or hunger, blurred vision, headaches, vaginal and skin infections, skin tags and more. I would suggest you to do full blood test to be sure and consult with your nutritionist or doctor.

It also can be from lack of sleep. It is very important for a human body to get enough sleep, to be able to digest and recharge. An adult person need 7-9 hours every day. You can read more about that in my previous post called "Sleep".

Exercise is not necessary but highly recommended at least few times a week. You don't have to become a bodybuilder, sometimes just walking 20-30 minutes will do. That will help you with your metabolism, get you in better shape with burning calories and fat and gives you energy.

You also need to prioritize protein in your meals. At least 30 g of it in breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Try not to snack, just have your full meals. Also maybe you want to have your dinner early, so you can fast a longer period of time until the morning. For some people that helps a lot.

My mother is the best example for not being able to lose weight.

Poor her, tried so many things in her life, and as she gets older (now 72), of course it's getting much harder. She definitely has metabolic problems.

But let me tell you about her a little bit, she's trying very hard sometimes, but also very stubborn and lately not as will powered as she was before. She's definitely a yo-yo dieter.

She pretty much trying every weight loss programs for about 2 months, which in my opinion is not enough. It took me 1 year to lose 40 lbs. She doesn't reach positive outcomes very quick so that will discourage her to continue. She even did keto for about 2 months, but didn't work. In my opinion she didn't eat enough food, but I couldn't be with her all day long and I couldn't push her harder.

I will support her in everything she does, but I also feel for her in this matter.

Bottom line is, make sure you know your body and your needs and try to get help if it's necessary.

Reach out if you are struggling! You are not alone.
