The ketogenic diet is a very low carb high fat diet that shares many similarities with the Atkins and low carb diets. It involves drastically reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carb puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis. It is a metabolic state, when the body burns fat for energy instead of glucose. As your body breaks down the fat, it will produce ketones in the liver, which will become your body and brain's main source of energy.
Ketogenic diets can cause significant reductions in blood sugar and insulin levels.
Ketogenic diet can help you lose weight, lower risk factors for diseases, helps with diabetes and many other benefits. There is different types of ketogenic diets. Just a few to mention. Standard, cyclical, targeted, high protein, lazy and dirty keto.
It is up to you which one suits you the best.
I'm doing dirty-lazy keto, and it worked for me fine.
