Fasting

In one way or another, people fast daily. If you choose to do it purposely and you've never done it before I would suggest you to start with a shorter window when you don't eat and go from there.

Most common fasting period of times are 12/12, 16/8, 18/6 and 24 hours.

While you fasting, you should drink your choice of liquid in a form of water, black coffee, tea and/or electrolytes. Make sure no sugar in any of them, otherwise it can break your fast.

You can also fast for longer period of time, but that you need to consulate with your nutritionist, doctor or dietitian.

For over 2 years in my journey I didn't fast, because I didn't feel I needed. When I got pain from my hernias every time I consumed food, I had to do something about it. So I decided to fast 18/6. That means I stopped eating for 18 hours and ate 2 full meals in a 6 hours window. It did work for me surprisingly fine, but didn't loose any weight. The purpose of this was just to prevent the pain, not about weight loss.

Once you fast you can gain a lot of benefits from it, so you might make fasting regularly.
