Berberine

You may or may not heard about Berberine. To be honest the first time I've heard about it a few months ago, and this week I seriously started to look into it.

Berberine is a quaternary ammonium salt from the protoberberine group of benzylisoquinolinealkaloids found in such plants as European barberry, tree turmeric, Oregon grape, goldenseal, yellowroot, Amur cork tree, Chinese goldthread, prickly poppy and Californian poppy. Berberine is usually found in the roots, rhizomes, stems, and bark.

There is a few researches about it and they are showing the benefits, like helps metabolic diseases, cholesterol, lower blood sugar and blood pressure, inflammations, liver and kidney dysfunctions, gastrointestinal disorders, lipid concentrations and fat burning.

Some call it "Nature's Ozempic". While Ozempic is a drug prescribed by doctors for diabetes and an injection, Berberine is a natural supplement in a capsule form and much cheaper.

Suggested to start 500 mg a day and work your way up to 1500-2000 mg/daily, up to 6 months.

Side effects may be diarrhea, upset stomach, gas or constipation.

If you are taking any medications, definitely speak to your doctor first! As they might cross each others effectiveness.

Is it save to take Berberine?

I think it is. But I would suggest you to read the labels. They better contain clear ingredients and the dosage should be enough per serving. Many of them will include other things like cinnamon, black pepper or turmeric.

I just ordered 2 different types (1 of them is a mix and the other 1 is clean). I will keep you updated on my progress.
